Stories of Hope and Healing
If you have a recovery story that you would like to have posted here, just send it to us in a Word document to email@example.com. By sending the story to this link, you are granting permission for us to review and check for its appropriateness, and, hopefully, post it for others to read.
Writing and posting your story is also about advocacy. It’s about spreading awareness of these issues so that they become less mysterious, less frightening, and most importantly, less stigmatizing. Being stigmatized is incredibly damaging to those who are trying to live with the diseases of substance abuse addiction and mental health. We need to bring these diseases out into the open where they can be discussed without fear, shame, discrimination, or retribution.
Guiding Hearts with Hope is dedicated to creating a place where it’s safe to speak and where we can help and inspire one another to change our world for the better by writing about our recovery experiences and sharing them. Only when wounds are exposed and allowed to breathe can they can finally heal.
It takes two to speak the truth: one to speak, and another to hear.
– Henry David Thoreau
Note: The writing and stories that appear on this web site are personal accounts from individual perspectives that cannot be substantiated by Guiding Hearts with Hope. This is not a journalistic web site; Guiding Hearts with Hope does not check submissions for sources or verify the claims that are made here and therefore is not liable for anything said or written here. This is a place for people to freely express their feelings and experiences from their own perspectives and where everyone has the chance to share their personal recovery journey truth. The stories are unedited...straight from the heart...very personal and yet universal.
